Admission Requirements

INDIVIDUALS NOT CURRENTLY CERTIFIED

 

Prior to enrolling in the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE Program, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in the #T.E.A.C.H. General Education Program.

  • Complete all required coursework.

  • Pass the MTTC required for your area of certification.

  • Hold a valid Interim Certification. 

  • Be on track to meet the required teaching time requirement.

 

Not Currently Enrolled in #T.E.A.C.H.

If you think you will be interested in the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE Program after meeting the requirements above, you will have an opportunity to indicate your interest during the application process. More specifically, after you submit your application, you will be redirected to the applicant upload form. When completing the form, you will be able to select the Special Education endorsement area that you are interested in and have it added to your profile as an additional area of interest. 

Currently Enrolled In #T.E.A.C.H.

Once you meet the requirements above you can enroll in the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE Program by following the directions for “Individuals CURRENTLY certified” below. 

Once enrolled in the SPED program, you must complete ten (10) core courses, one (1) concentration course and one (1) eight-week student teaching assignment. To obtain your SPED ITC, you must also pass the required MTTC for your desired endorsement area.

INDIVIDUALS CURRENTLY CERTIFIED

 

Not Currently Enrolled in #T.E.A.C.H.
To qualify for admission into the #T.E.A.C.H. Special Education Program (#T.E.A.C.H.-SE), you must:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.

  2. Submit official transcripts with a 2.95 GPA (this can be from any degree granted, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Ph.D., etc.).

  3. Hold a valid Standard or Professional Teaching Certification.

 

Once enrolled in the SPED program, you must complete ten (10) core courses and one (1) concentration course. To obtain your SPED ITC, you must also pass the required MTTC for your desired endorsement area.

(ONLY for Current holders of Standard or Professional Certificates that ARE NOT Current Students)

Currently Enrolled In #T.E.A.C.H.

Individuals that are currently enrolled in #T.E.A.C.H. and hold an Interim, Standard or Professional Certificate can immediately enroll in the  #T.E.A.C.H.-SE Program. If you hold an Interim Certificate, all coursework in your current program must be complete and you must be on track to meet the  required teaching time requirement. If you hold a Standard or Professional Certificate, you can enroll in the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE program concurrently with your existing Additional Endorsement Program or after you complete your existing program – either is permissible. Additionally, you must be on track to meet the required teaching time requirement. Please note that the Portfolio option for additional endorsements is not available for the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE Program.

If you meet the requirements above, you can enroll in the #T.E.A.C.H-SE program. Because you have already met our admission requirements, you will not be required to re-apply.

You will also need to make arrangements to pay the required fees. If you have already paid in full for your general education program or have completed a payment plan, you will need to initiate a new payment plan (Additional Endorsement Traditional Option) for this program. If you have yet to complete your existing payment plan, you will need to email finance@trainingeducators.com and ask that your existing plan be extended the number of months required to cover the fees for the #T.E.A.C.H.-SE program.
